The infamous... the legendary... the totally exciting guide to British telly at Christmas!!
By Kat Flynn (Actor)
WOAH HO HO HO HO! After living in Great Britain for 5 years, this is the first time I have ever bought the Radio Times's guide to Christmas TV.
But seriously, you guys, I have come to love Christmas in Britain. The country literally shuts down for like 2 days (Christmas + Boxing Day aka the-day-after-Christmas) and nothing is really open. It LITERALLY shuts down and it's GLORIOUS. Because you get to do all of the things Christmas was meant for: visit family, go for a walk in the countryside, eat, visit friends, eat, watch TV, eat some more, and relax. Oh yeah, and eat chocolate biscuits. (Which aren't like an american cookie at all.)
So what am I looking forward to watching this year?
1. The Call the Midwives Christmas Special
2. The Grantchester Christmas Special (with James Norton...read David's post about him!)
3. The Great Christmas British Bake Off #Breadxit
4. The Queen's Speech, not the film, she actually addresses the whole country and reflects on the year and such. It's pretty iconic.
And tons of films! There are lots! OMG, honestly, I am so flippin' excited. I'm going to sit there and circle all of the wonderful things I want to watch, like it's 1990 and DVR's didn't exist, or at least I don't think so.
OMG, is it Christmas yet?!
xoxo
