Music...when being tired just isn't cutting it.
by Alex Syiek (Writer/Performer/Tired)
So, sometimes you have weeks that seem to go on and on and on and on and on and etc. And sometimes you don't get a lot of sleep in those weeks. But sometimes, that week ends and you get to have sleeptime again. Those are the best sometimes. But, even then, sometimes, you find it hard to sleep now that you have to opportunity. So, hypothetically, if I were in that situation right now, well, I suppose this would be the ULTIMATE SLEEPYTIME PLAYLIST.
1. 'Nessun Dorma' by Giacomo Puccini
While the title translates roughly to "none shall sleep," this aria never fails to lull me off to a grand dreamworld.
2. 'Sleep' by Eric Whitacre
This try-hard literally got the world together in this video to tell you to get the hell to sleep.
3. 'I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You' by Colin Hay
This song just reminds me of rainy afternoons in Ohio, and Colin Hay can sing me lullabies whenever he wants.
4. 'The Boxer' by Simon & Garfunkel
Most S&G songs work, but the lyrics of this one really inspire some killer dreams. Plus, a repeated"li, li, li" chorus? So soothing.
5. 'Send in the Clowns' by Stephen Sondheim
My personal favorite Sondheim song, and the most beautiful thing to possibly hear before falling unconscious. And Babs.
Good night everybody. I am off to utilize this playlist. Ahhh.
