The next step in developing a new musical.
By Rachel James (Treasurer/Writer)
During the summer of 2014, I was the producer on a new musical at FringeNYC called Olympus Records. It had a new score of 90’s sounding tunes, and we were putting it on its feet to see if we had something. We got some decent notices, and learned an awful lot. The creative team was pretty burnt out after the experience, so some time was taken to look at the songs, look at the structure, and to see how we move forward.

The premise of the show concerns the tragic heroes of Sophocles’ plays as 90’s rockstars. They are in the biggest band of the decade, and the band’s break up catapults them into their tragic fates. Since the show stars a band, we thought “Why not put on a rock show?” Thus, Olympus Records at The Way Station was born.
Next Wednesday, November 18th at 11pm (truly rock ‘n’ roll hour), Olympus Records is performing at the infamous Way Station (a.k.a. “the bar with the T.A.R.D.I.S.”) in Prospect Heights. There will be our live band, along with four incredible singers, rocking out some of the old songs, as well as a few new ones.
If you’re free, come on down to the Way Station and join us on this next step in our journey!
